Indications/Uses
COPD, bronchial asthma & pulmonary disease w/ spastic bronchial component.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 1 tab bid-tid. Elderly ½ tab bid-tid.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ acute MI, hypotension. Lactation.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ CHF, chronic obstructive lung disease or concomitant infections, & those taking erythromycin, troleandomycin, lincomycin & other antibiotics of the same group, allopurinol, cimetidine, propranolol & anti-flu vaccine. Phenytoin, other anticonvulsants & smoking. Hypoxemia, hyperthyroidism, liver & renal disease, history of peptic ulcer. Pregnancy. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, cephalalgia, irritability, insomnia, tachycardia, extrasystole, tachypnea. Hyperglycemia & albuminuria.
Drug Interactions
Not to be administered w/ other xanthine derivatives, including beverages & foods containing caffeine. Toxic synergism w/ ephedrine. May decrease hepatic clearance w/ erythromycin, troleandomycin, lincomycin, clindamycin, allopurinol, cimetidine, propranolol & anti-flu vaccine.
